Nomenclature. The flora is classified using the Swiss taxonomic categories, which differ in some cases from those used in the UK. For example, Speedwells (Veronica) belong to the Plantain (Plantaginaceae) family in the Swiss taxonomy but are in a separate family (Veronicaceae) in the UK. The scientific names are derived from the Swiss InfoFlora website.
